The Courtroom Of Carnal Christianity

By: Keith O'Neal - Director

courtroomIf you have sinned you deserve a fair trial by the one true and righteous Judge, our Heavenly Father.   So many people however have   been wounded and hurt by some church folk who have self appointed themselves to the jury pool convened in the “The Courtroom of Carnal Christianity”.

Going through personal struggles is bad enough but when you are then dragged into “The Courtroom of Carnal Christianity” it makes it so much worse.   It is often spiritually fatal when judgmental church attenders place people on trial to be judged by those who are simply not qualified to do so.   The entire concept is sad given that Satan is the accuser of the brethren and he seems to have plenty of help from within the faith community.

Let’s look at this closer.   Matt 7:1-2; tells us that   true Christians   are to: "Judge not, that you be not judged." (NKJV)   The word "judge" in the Greek (krino) can mean evaluate or analyze. It also refers to private, judgmental attitudes that tear down others.

Jesus did say we should expose false teachers and to admonish others in order to help them. Paul also taught us in 1 Corinthians 5:1-5 that we should exercise church discipline. But followers of Christ   SHOULD NOT   be critical or condemning in their attitudes toward others.   After all, Jesus didn’t come to condemn the world but to save it (John 3:17) and those of us who call ourselves "Christ-Like" shouldn't condemn either.

Exodus 23:1 says; don’t pass on malicious gossip. "Don't link up with a wicked person and give corrupt testimony. (THE MESSAGE)

So then, I have a few questions.

Why are there so many judgmental attitudes within the faith community? Why then are there so many who are willing to pass on false testimony when in fact it may be here say and untrue?   Why is it so common for some in the faith community to accuse, indict, and prosecute, people within and outside our membership?

The process is flawed because the evidence being offered is based on one-sided testimony, inaccurate facts, and presented by equally flawed people.   If that is not enough the fact we render a verdict and impose sentencing makes us dangerous given that is God’s job.

I encourage all who have fallen and failed to not allow yourself to be affected by those who want to drag you into “The Court Room Of Carnal Christianity.” You deserve a fair trial and I encourage you to only submit yourself to the courtroom of God’s grace and mercy where all who have confessed their sins are pronounced not guilty and free.
