If you have any faith background at all you have heard the “The Good Samaritan Story” many times (Luke 10:30.)Recently I re-read the story and instead of focusing on what The Good Samaritan did, I studied what he didn’t do when he encountered the injured man.
#1 He didn’t manufacture reasons to not help the man.He didn’t say “I am too busy” or “I am running late for a meeting,” he took time to help the man.
#2 He didn’t offer limited help.He gave his time, talents, and his money to help the man in need
#3 He didn’t condemn the man.He didn’t blame him, ridicule him, he just helped him to a safe place where he could heal.
#4 He didn’t just dump him off somewhere. He offered to be part of a process that would result in the wounded man being made well.
As I re-read this story I was energized to expand The Good Samaritan Network to cities and states around the country.
All we need is more people to join us, people who will not make excuses as to why they do not help.We need people who will not hold back and will offer what they have to those who have not.We are praying for God to send us people who will love and not reject those that have made mistakes, or have simply been injured while traveling on life’s road.
There is only one vowel difference between good and God.When we do good people will see God in us and we earn the right to present God to them.It is amazing how open people are to the Gospel when they know we really care about them.
I have made my decision, and I hope and pray others will join us.I am not asking you for money.I am asking you to join us but being a Good Samaritan in your community.Look for ways to bless people in your community.
This great network is supported by people who share our desire to help people. We need as many people as possible to stand with us as we expand this network across the nation. To become a member of The Good Samaritan Network of America Please go to the donation link at the bottom of this page.
Miles make impossible to see each other every day. However we can still do God’s work together as members of this great Network.
